Cross Contour Smudge Tool Painting

This was at La Jolla Cove, when I first took the picture I used F5.6 and let it focus on the whole view. Then I took it into Photoshop and used the "Smudge Tool". That tool made the picture smudge making it look like a painting. I started off by smudging the water in a wavy direction, using an opacity of 50%. Then I continued onto the sand using the same tool with an opacity of 85% and left the rock and the branches normal.
This was also in La Jolla outside a little stand, I used F22 to just focus on the plant and let everything blur out. I took it into photoshop and used the smudge tool and put the opacity at 45% because i wanted to go lightly over it and stretch out plants a little bit more longer. Then I put the opacity to 50% and made one line in a circular motion and did it for each of them. And the center of the plant I did some changes, made it a little long but left it the same.
